DA: They've done it again!

Mon May 19, 2008, 9:33 AM
Once again, one of my Twilight deviations has been deleted from the system!

This time, however, as well as claiming it was violating copyright claims they have apparently stated that it is ART THEFT too.

The images of Edward and Bella came from the Hollywood Backlot release of 24 photographs, the text I downloaded leagally, the 'Twilight' logo is official and everyone knows where that's from, and the cloud photo is one I have used before in one of my other deviations which I found through google months ago.

I haven't stolen anything from anybody. If I have, please tell me and I'll be more than happy to apologise, but if this happens again, I'm seriously thinking of posting my art somewhere else, because this is getting ridiculous - DA says that you've broken certain rules, but never completely explain why. Others are breaking these rules all the time, but their work is still viewable through the search engine on DA.

Ridiculous.

EDIT: I've just written a journal, but you probably don't want to read more about me ranting! And I've also written a note to the DA staff complaining, so I should hear back from them in 48 hours or so. If they do this again, I'm just going to have to upload my manipulations to Livejournal instead of DA, and use this place for my drawings and other work.

I apologise for messing you guys around so much with this whole thing.

A beautiful Artist is worldofmyown GO THERE NOW! I command you! lol... joke.... love ya'll
Mmm... maybe the image you found through google. The images google find are not actually free to use... google just shows pretty much everything it finds, whether they're are copyrighted images or free royalty images. So that could be the problem. That's a very common misconception, google is not an image stock, some designer friends had some problems with that last semester in college, someone actually recognized an image they used as copyrighted, and they alleged they found it through google, they had some serious problems because of that...
I suspected it could have been that image, but when I saved it I was sure that it didn't belong to anyone...

I understand that Google isn't a stock facility, which is pretty annoying sometimes! Thanks for the insight :)

I'm sorry they are being stupid. It is like when I was in high school and I brought my iPod to school so I could show :iconinkwings: some songs, since we never had time to hang out outside of school. So I had it out at lunch, and my other friend had her GameboySP out playing Pokemon, and suddenly the principal walks by.

Now mind you, my iPod is fairly well hidden, except for the wires of the headphones, and my friend's Gameboy is in plain sight. He confiscated my iPod, but let her keep her Gameboy.

Our theory was it was because she was one of the AP kids who's grades were in the top 10 of the school, so she could get away with more, but he was like that in general anyways. I think it is just like what dA is doing: you are trying to follow the rules, you cite everything that wasn't yours, but they basically played a game of Russian Roulette and chose your name out of the hat, and ignored all the idiots who are claiming Summit photos as their own.

What a screwed up version of logic our world has, ne?

Screwed up is an understatement I think - it's completely gay! >.<

*huggles the Kate back*

Are the rules about bringing technology into schools where you are that strict? A couple of years ago at my school camera phones were banned, which is another screwed-up-logic-thing because almost ALL mobile phones made today have cameras incorporated into the design. But even that wasn't enforced very tightly. It was kind of more 'encouraged' that we shouldn't bring them in.

Whoever invented Russian Roulette deserves to play it sometime...grrr...

Technically the 'werewolves' in the Twilight series are not werewolves, thier shapeshifters because they are no controlled by the moon and retain thier thoughts and memories between the two forms!
I agree with you Erin. Time to go somewhere else. I'm on LJ but the communities there are so active and posting is so complicated that I probably wouldn't make my foundation there when or if I move. I'm thinking myspace because it's personally where I love to be online. But yeah one of my stamps got deleted, stupidness. They can't find things that easily. Twilight haters are doing the reporting!
